Introduction

Our group looks to explore the liberalization of Ibero-American. It is this liberalization that is controversial to the very essence of their conservative culture and religion. We will consider elements that do not stay true to conservative culture and will attempt to explain why cinema has taken such a liberal approach. For instance the idea of family is greatly important in Ibero-American cinema but there has been a transition in the way it is portrayed. In addition Romance has become more physical, homosexuality is being portrayed, feminism is hindered, and crime is all the more evident. By exploring these trends we can explore the changes in cultural norms that have occurred in Ibero-American film or any flaw that films may be depicting.
